2023

Scoping Submission

A ‘Scoping Request’ was issued to the Scottish Government, who then sought views from statutory consultees, such as The Highland Council, NatureScot and SEPA, on the level of study required for the EIA of the project. This was then set out in an EIA Scoping Opinion.

Design and EIA Process

Design evolution and environmental assessment process to optimise the design to achieve balance between site performance and environmental effects. The project continued to evolve as we receive feedback from consultees and the public and undertook technical studies and surveys.

2024

First Public Consultation Event

The first round of public consultation was held in February 2024. Exhibition material uploaded to the project website.

The first public consultation event took place on Wednesday 7 February, 2.30pm - 7.30pm at Rosehall Village Hall.

Met Mast

A planning application for the installation of a single, temporary meteorological mast (‘met mast’), approximately 90m in height, in order to gather wind speed and direction data on site was submitted in 2024. The met mast application was approved in 2025.

Second Public Consultation Event

The second round of public consultation was held in August 2024. Exhibition material uploaded to the project website.

The public consultation took place in Rosehall Community Hall on Wednesday 28 August 2024, 1pm – 8pm.

2025

S36 Application Submission

Following consultation events and feedback, we submitted a S36 Application in early 2025. The Energy Consents Unit will consult with a number of consultees, including local and neighbouring Community Councils and Highland Council.
